Hannah and Aaron’s maternity session holds a special place in my heart. It was my very first maternity shoot, and an experience that taught me so much. We met in a beautiful park called Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado, surrounded by open space, soft light, and the quiet anticipation that comes with waiting for a new life to arrive.
Hannah and Aaron brought such a calm, joyful energy to the session. There were so many sweet moments between them, little smiles, gentle touches, and the kind of excitement that comes with preparing to welcome their baby into the world. It felt like such an honor to capture this chapter for them.
This session was also a moment of growth for me as a photographer. I learned so much about scouting locations, paying attention to the direction of the sun, and noticing how the light moves through a space. It was one of those sessions where everything begins to click, where you start to see the environment, the light, and the emotions of the moment come together.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere for Hannah and Aaron. I brought a custom playlist along, and between poses and gentle direction, we found ourselves dancing together in the park, laughing and soaking up the beautiful Colorado evening. Moments like that remind us that photography isn’t just about the photos; it’s about creating an experience where people feel comfortable, present, and able to simply enjoy the moment!
