This session will always hold a really special place in my heart. While I was taking a photography course, I needed someone to step in front of the camera so I could practice, and Stephen, my partner and fiancé, was there to jump in and support me. We headed to a local park on a day that couldn’t have been more perfect, with soft light, comfortable weather, and space to just play and create together.
We spent the session experimenting with different poses and leaning into a more editorial feel, which was something new and really fun for me creatively. It gave me the freedom to try things, adjust, and learn in a way that didn’t feel pressured.
What made this session even more meaningful, though, was watching Stephen throughout it. He started a little nervous and shy in front of the camera (which is so normal), but as we kept going, I saw him begin to relax, open up, and really step into it. Watching that shift and seeing his confidence grow in real time was such a cool and unexpected part of the experience!
This session became more than just practice for a course. It turned into something fun, personal, and genuinely special that we got to share.
